Peace Promotion through Peacetival Held Again in Makassar

PEACETIVAL will be held again in Daeng City, Makassar, South Sulawesi. With the theme CONVEY INDONESIA “Counter Violent Extremism of Youth Indonesia”, this Peacetival or Peace Festival comes with a mission to voice messages of peace to the wider community.

PEACETIVAL which will be held on March 18 2018 is back in collaboration with Mall Ratu Indah (MaRI) Makassar as the venue.

The activity organized by the Peace Generation Makassar Chapter in collaboration with UNDP and PPIM UIN Jakarta collaborates with the Makassar City Government and several communities such as KITA Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, Makassar Gusdurian Network, Jenny Bookstore, South Sulawesi Peace Institute, Establish Harmony.

It is hoped that in 2018, community participation can reach around 5000 local, national and international visitors. This event will be filled with peace inspirers, cultural observers, musicians, art workers, and many other elements who support and will be involved in campaigning for peace in Makassar City.

The PEACETIVAL event content consists of a Music Concert which will be enlivened by various national and local artists and musicians such as Comb the Land, Airships, and Reading Room. Talk The Peace by peacemakers, the Peace Zone contains a Board Game For Peace and Interactive Games Booth, Exhibition from UNDP and PPIM, as well as the Peace Contest, namely the Postcard Contest, Coloring Competition, and Cabaret Competition, which were attended by students, students and communities throughout Makassar, and various other interesting activity items.

At the peak of PEACETIVAL, there will also be a Peace Promise with all visitors and the peace community. PEACETIVAL exists as a joint effort to Reject Violence and Extremism, especially among Youth in Makassar City.

It is hoped that the city of Makassar is committed to applying the principles of Sipakatau, Sipakainga ‘, Sipakalebbi’ in the form of activities, policies, and social life. (rls / pojoksulsel)
