ISLAMI.CO – The PPIM UIN Jakarta survey results show that female teachers are more intolerant than male teachers. This survey was conducted among kindergarten / TPA to SMA / MA teachers, with a total sample of 2,237 teachers.

Saiful Umam, Ph.D., Director of PPIM UIN Jakarta in Launching PPIM Survey and Convey at La Meridien Jakarta (16/10), said that this was known through questionnaires and Implicit Association Test (IAT).

From these results, female teachers got M = 46.53, while male teachers got M = 48.05.

The survey also found that female teachers had higher opinions and action intentions than male teachers, with a value of M = 48.08 versus M = 55.1.

“The less M, the higher the intolerance. These results are the accumulation of all male and female teachers who were the object of the survey, “he said.

Apart from that, the survey also found that 40.36% of teachers agreed that Muslims no longer need to learn from western sources of knowledge. According to Saiful, this teacher’s view can be interpreted as their belief in absolute Islam.

“Islam (by them) is understood as the most perfect and all-encompassing, so it must be the only source of knowledge,” he added.
