POSMETROPADANG.CO.ID – The Islamic Love Movement (GIC), which has created a book about the Islamic Love Series Genes of 20 books, aims to inform the Millennial generation of Islam as Agam Rahma, Friday (30/11). Currently, the Love Islamic Millennial Movement is specially socialized at IAIN Bukittinggi, with 20 titles of the Islamic Gen Series, which is attended by hundreds of students in the IAIN Bukittinggi futsal game.

The strategic position of the millennial generation, with a wide range of associations and is relatively autonomous, is often seen as the most appropriate and easy means of being infiltrated by radical ideas. One of the reasons most responsible for this condition is the victory of conservative groups in seizing reading rooms for the millennial generation of Muslims.

That the reading rooms of the millennial generation are crammed with popular Islamic references that display Islamic ‘angry faces’. Therefore, it becomes very urgent to balance the reading room with a friendly, loving face of Islam.

Since 2015, the Islamic Love Movement (GIC) has been in the process and trying to fill the empty space by producing serial books on Islam Cinta, to promote moderate Islam to the wider community.

Islamic books of love have become a reference for society, especially young people in realizing love and peace. Besides, GIC has also initiated a reading club, working together with several organizations.

A grassroots reading community and with youth peace activists in several cities in Indonesia. In this reading club activity, Gen IC (Gen. Islam Cinta) books were shared and dissected, and the message of peace was spread through social media with the hashtag.

The head of the Cinta Islam Movement, Eddy Aqidhi Wijaya, said that the aim of making this socialization was to increase readers of serial books creatively and attractively with popular culture among students. “The Love Islam Literacy Roadshow is aimed at presenting the idea of ​​Love Islam which contains Islamic teachings that are cool, peaceful, and tolerant to the public,” said Eddy.

This activity also aims to build a friendship with the community, especially millennials so that they can work together to convey the idea of ​​Community LIC. “We also help for a reading center for Nagari children who need books, which one is needed according to the demand for Nagari children’s libraries in Bukittinggi,” he said.
