The survey conducted by the Center for the Study of Islam and Society (PPIM) of the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta aimed for exploring insights towards the perspectives of House of Representatives lawmakers in building national resilience to prevent violent extremism through religious education in Indonesia, a religious teaching that could enhanced tolerance, harmony, mutual understanding, mutual respect without discrimination, non-violent actions, interaction, and collaboration between religious communities and between followers of different faiths. The samplings were collected by enumerators from 21 October 2019 to 17 December 2019. The survey was conducted towards 380 legislative members (or 66.1% of the total 575 lawmakers sitting at the House). Complete data analysis was obtained from 370 respondents (64.3%). One of the recommendations for the House was that political parties should open a wider participation opportunity for civil society – especially for minority groups – in the deliberation to the revision of the National Education Law.
