Convey Indonesia, along with the Center for the Study of Islam and Social Transformation (CISForm) of Sunan Kalijaga Islamic State University (UIN) Yogyakarta, conducted a research towards the education systems in terms of producing religious education teachers.
The research aimed for investigating the mechanisms used by various universities, colleges, and high schools, both public and private ones, in preparing their students to be religious education teachers.
The research examined deeper about how things worked in religious teachers education scheme, from the backgrounds of the lecturer, curriculum, syllabus, teaching methods, to the activities in their environment, such as Islamic studies, informal recitation, halaqah (a convention with ulema), which contributed to the religious understanding of the students, the prospective religious teachers.
