Political parties had, at least, some agenda and programs that aimed for improving the quality of religious education. Recently, many parties formed right-wing organizations to carry out such activities. However, did political parties really have serious attention to the development of Islamic education? This qualitative research was conducted because political parties played important roles in the policy-making process in Indonesia. The purpose of this research was to explore deeper information about what political parties thought about building resilience to prevent violent extremism through moderate religious education that was realized by enhancing tolerance, harmony, mutual understanding, respect, non-discriminative and non-violent actions, as well as building dialogues and collaboration between religious communities.
